Jewelry & Decor Care

Resin & Yellowing: All resins yellows with age. To keep your resin piece clearer for longer, avoid setting it out for display in direct sunlight. (Every year, new resin brands are created, and older brands are occasionally updating formulas. Some brands are definitely better than others! Some brands will resist yellowing longer than others. I have tested So Many brands of resin, and every couple years I tend to switch my favored brands to ones that I feel are the new current "Best" in the market.)

Resin Jewelry:

Remove resin jewelry before:

  • applying lotion, perfume, hairspray or other beauty products
  • showering or swimming (repeat exposure to hot water will soften the resin!)
  • cleaning with harsh chemicals
  • resin rings: use only gentle soaps while washing hands

Resin jewelry can be cleaned with mild soap and water and buffed with a microfiber cloth.

To deter discoloration of resin, do not store in direct sunlight; store jewelry in a box while not wearing.

Copper Care:

The color of your copper piece will naturally change over time. The best way to keep the original color is to keep your copper jewelry clean and dry.

Remove your jewelry before:

  • sleeping
  • showering or swimming
  • applying lotion, perfume, hairspray or other beauty products
  • using harsh chemicals and cleaning supplies

Wipe your jewelry with a microfiber cloth before storing. Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place.

For Copper Rings

All of the copper rings have been finished with a patina, which is a darkening of the raw copper. Over time, this patina will continue to change color (lightening/darkening) depending on the amount of wear and exposure to natural elements from the skin and air.
Will the copper turn your finger green?
This depends greatly on the PH level of your sweat/skin, along with the humidity in the air and lotions applied to hands, etc.
To deter discoloration of the skin:
  • Try to keep skin and jewelry clean and dry.
  • Wipe ring with a soft cloth before & after wearing.
  • Allow plenty of time for lotion to absorb into skin before wearing.
Adding a wax to the band can also help as a protective barrier if your skin is prone to greening, like jewelry or car wax. Many people tend to use clear nail polish too, as it's likely already sitting around at home.
To clean copper: mild soap and water, dry with a soft cloth.
